Before I start let me elaborate on the title. Pretty much what I mean by the title is when I am having a tough day with my running or diet I wish it was like the days where everything felt and went great. I also wish that every day was and felt like an easy day! I have days where I workout hard and diet hard and it all goes great! Don't we all wish every day was like that!
Starting a health journey to lose weight or get in shape isn't an easy decision and it definitely isn't an easy task but I will tell you right now it is 100% worth it! Once you start you will get addicted and feel awesome for doing it! (Tip: Make sure not to get to addicted to your journey though! Remember to live life and have fun as well! That's for another post thought.)
In this blog entry/post I am going to tell you all about a tough day I had which was yesterday actually and how I got through it!
7:00am I am up step on the scale and weigh (I was under where I needed to be), grab my Powerade Zero, take my green tea pills, and starting my run! Everything felt good it was my second day doing a harder 5 mile run. (Today was supposed to be an easy run day but I wanted to push myself.) Finished up the 5 mile run and topped it off with a protein shake and PB sandwich while getting in an extra mile of walking. Finished up the extra mile 6 miles total for the day and was still feeling pretty good just a little soar in the legs but nothing crazy. Now to get a shower in and get ready to start work. Shower done, coffee made and in my cup and off to my office to start working. Everything was still going good until about mid afternoon I started feeling a little more tired and drained that usual. It all started going down hill from there.
Late afternoon it was so bad all I wanted to do was sit or quite honestly lay down and go to bed! I was just so tired and I felt like I didn't even want to hold myself up. By supper time I was dragging so bad I looked like a car had hit me and I was just trying to crawl to the side of the road and well you konw..... The family said I needed to eat which I did because I was hungry but I just didn't get why I was feeling this way I didn't do anything different that I could think of. After eating it helped some but not a lot. We finished up supper and decided to go out and get an evening coffee that helped some more as well but not enough to get me to feeling like I should! when we got home I decided to do a few thing I needed to get done and then call it a night and lay down. After laying down for a while I decided I wanted another Powerade Zero and I decided to make a slushy out of it and it was good! Half way through my second Powerade Zero I was feeling even better. The night went on and I went to bed not feeling 100% but better than I was earlier in the day! I fell asleep and woke up today not feeling weak but did feel like CRAP but I GOT UP did the morning routine and got my run in and the run went great! It was tough as heck at first but once I got going and got in my zone it was a great run! When I finished I felt accomplished and glad that I did it! You are going to have tough days but it's in those tough days where you find out what you are made of! You are stronger and can do more than you think you can!
Before I end this post I want to leave you with four tips for your journey! 1- Never Give UP 2- As YouTuber Nick Bare (one of the YouTubers who motivated me to start my journey) says "Embrace The Suck" in other words it might suck but push through it and do it anyway and you will be glad you did. 3-Know Your Body listen to your body and know when it's okay to push and when not okay to push it! 4- You Can Do Anything You Set Your Mind To!
